1. A computing system on-board a satellite, the computing system comprising:
one or more processors; and
one or more tangible, non-transitory, computer readable media that collectively store instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the computing system to:
receive a query for availability to acquire image data;
determine, based on the query, an availability to acquire the image data;
transmit, to a remote command system or to a geostationary satellite, a signal indicating availability to acquire the image data;
obtain a request for image data, the request comprising at least one of: (i) a location of a target, (ii) an order of imagery acquisition relative to other imaging tasks, (iii) a position of the satellite, (iv) an orientation of the satellite, or (v) a sensor setting;
capture the image data according to the request; and
transmit, to the geostationary satellite, a confirmation signal acknowledging successful completion of the image capture according to the request.
