1. A power converter system, comprising:
a power conversion circuit;
a linear regulator;
a first switching device electrically coupled between an output of the power conversion circuit and an output of the linear regulator;
a control circuitry electrically coupled to the first switching device; and
a second switching device electrically coupled across an output capacitance of the linear regulator;
wherein:
the control circuitry is electrically coupled to the second switching device;
after a voltage at the output of the power conversion circuit exceeds a reference voltage, the control circuitry is configured to discharge the output capacitance of the linear regulator until a voltage at the output of the linear regulator is substantially the same as the voltage at the output of the power conversion circuit; and
the control circuitry is configured to close the second switching device at a time when a voltage at the output of the linear regulator exceeds the voltage at the output of the power conversion circuit.
