1. An aqueous inside spray food or beverage can coating composition, the coating composition comprising:
a resin system comprising an emulsion polymerized acrylic latex, wherein the resin system is at least partially preformed;
an alkali-soluble resin additive comprising an at least partially neutralized acid- or anhydride-functional organic solution polymerized acrylic polymer formed from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component including an ethylenically unsaturated acid-functional monomer and a (meth)acrylate; and
a nitrogen-containing carboxyl-reactive crosslinker;
wherein the coating composition comprises a physical blend of the emulsion polymerized acrylic latex and the alkali-soluble resin additive; and
wherein the coating composition includes more than 50 wt-% of the emulsion polymerized acrylic latex, based on the total resin solids weight of the coating composition.
