1. A spherical motion sensor housing adjustably mounted on an outdoor security light canopy, comprising:
a spherical shroud having a lens opening, a vertical field of view opening, and a horizontal field of view opening, the vertical field of view opening and the horizontal field of view opening in opposing axis relationship;
a lens covering the lens opening of the spherical shroud; and
a motion detection unit mounted within the spherical shroud, the motion detection unit having an optical field of view for motion detection through the lens covering the lens opening,
wherein the optical field of view for the motion detection unit includes the horizontal field of view and the vertical field of view;
wherein the vertical field of view of the motion detection unit defines a first field of view opening and the horizontal field of view of the motion detection unit defines a second field of view opening.
