10. A method comprising:
receiving RX (receive) data at a plurality of RX ports in an RX Media Access Control (MAC) block configured to perform MAC Layer operations on the RX data, the RX data corresponding to network data received at multiple RX network ports for which RX Physical Layer (PHY) processing has been performed, the RX MAC block including variable-width datapath segments; and
in conjunction with performing MAC Layer processing on the RX data received at the plurality of RX ports in the RX MAC block, selecting widths of the variable-width datapath segments to forward data over based on an RX port at which the RX data are received.
