1. A radio frequency identification (RFID) printer device for encoding and verifying RFID labels, the RFID printer device comprising:
a thermal printhead;
a platen roller;
a first RFID antenna configured upstream from the thermal printhead and the platen roller;
a second RFID antenna configured downstream from the first RFID antenna;
a memory device having executable instructions stored therein; and
one or more processors communicatively coupled to the memory device, wherein when the executable instructions are executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
determine a maximum print speed of the RFID printer device and a size of data to be encoded in a RFID label;
determine an amount of print speed reduction during RFID encoding and verifying operations (i) when the first RFID antenna is used for the RFID encoding and verifying operations and (ii) when the first RFID antenna and the second RFID antenna are used for the RFID encoding and verifying operations, respectively, based on at least the maximum print speed of the RFID printer device and the size of the data to be encoded in the RFID label; and
select between (i) a first mode of operation comprising the first RFID antenna and (ii) a second mode of operation comprising the first RFID antenna and the second RFID antenna, such that the amount of print speed reductions is minimized in performing the RFID encoding and verifying operations.
