1. A hot air cooking appliance comprising:
a lower portion and an upper portion;
the lower portion comprising a receiving chamber and a frying barrel removably disposed in the receiving chamber, the receiving chamber being defined by at least one surface, and the frying barrel comprising a cooking chamber configured to receive food to be cooked, an opening causing the cooking chamber to open upwards, and an unperforated base on which food is received;
the upper portion comprising a heating element and an air supply fan to supply and circulate hot air in the receiving chamber;
wherein the lower portion is provided with an air exhaust port formed in the at least one surface and disposed distally from the air supply fan;
wherein a gap is formed in the receiving chamber between the frying barrel and a surface of the at least one surface, the air exhaust port being in communication with the gap; and,
wherein during cooking by the hot air cooking appliance, hot air in the receiving chamber is discharged through the gap and the air exhaust port.
