1. An upper for a shoe, the upper comprising:
a woven element comprising:
at least one non-heat-pressed single-layer portion formed from a single woven layer,
a first multi-layer portion formed from at least two overlapping woven layers,
a second multi-layer portion formed from at least two overlapping woven layers,
a first heat-pressed portion comprising melted yarn of the single-layer portion surrounding the first multi-layer portion, and
a second heat-pressed portion comprising melted yarn of the single-layer portion surrounding the second multi-layer portion,
wherein the at least one non-heat-pressed single-layer portion surrounds and is disposed between the first heat-pressed portion and the second heat-pressed portion,
wherein the first and second multi-layer portions comprises at least one protrusion of the woven element,
wherein gaps are formed between the at least two overlapping woven layers at the first and second multi-layer portions, and the gaps at the first and second multi-layer portions are filled with a filling material,
wherein the filling material comprises a yarn that is woven into the single woven layer and extends into the gaps between the at least two overlapping woven layers such that the yarn floats within the gaps, and
wherein the yarn of the filling material is melted into the first and second multi-layer portions within the gaps.
