1. A simulator system for simulating one or more surgical procedures, wherein the simulator system comprises:
memory; and
processing circuitry communicatively coupled to the memory, the processing circuitry configured to:
receive, from an input device configured to detect a position of at least a portion of a user tool within an operation envelope during a simulated surgical procedure, information indicative of the position of at least the portion of the user tool, wherein a simulation device includes a wall defining an aperture through which the portion of the user tool is configured to be received into the operation envelope, the simulation device defines a first channel extending from the aperture in a first direction and a second channel extending from the aperture in a second direction, the first channel is configured to receive the portion of the user tool responsive to a pivot of the user tool in the first direction, and the second channel is configured to receive the portion of the user tool responsive to a pivot of the user tool in the second direction;
generate a performance metric based on the position of at least the portion of the user tool over a period of time; and
output, for display to a user, the performance metric.
