1. A timbre-scaled exhaust system, the system comprising:
a collector including an entrance duct at a first end of the collector for receiving an exhaust flow from an internal combustion engine and an exit duct at a second end of the collector,
wherein a first arrangement of lobes is formed around one of the exit duct or the entrance duct of the collector, wherein the first arrangement of lobes are adapted to receive a first number of tuning tubes in a first configuration,
wherein a second arrangement of lobes is formed around the one of the exit duct or the entrance duct of the collector, wherein the second arrangement of lobes are adapted to receive a second number of tuning tubes in a second configuration, and
wherein in the first configuration the second arrangement of lobes is unused by the tuning tubes and in the second configuration the first arrangement of lobes is unused by the tuning tubes.
