1. A method for determining error across an electrical conductivity isolation barrier allowing signal coupling between first and second electrical signal domains on a same integrated circuit (IC) device, the method comprising:
receiving digital raw data at a digital isolator circuit;
encoding the raw data using a digital-to-digital converter to create coded data;
transmitting the coded data across an isolation barrier to create output coded data;
decoding the output coded data using a digital-to-digital decoder to create decoded data;
determining error in coupling across the isolation barrier based on the decoded data and the digital raw data;
providing an error signal at the digital isolator circuit based on the error in coupling across the digital isolator; and
performing error correction in response to the error signal indicating the error in coupling across the digital isolator.
