1. A vehicle control system that controls an interface unit for performing at least an input by a user, the vehicle control system comprising:
the interface unit;
an anomaly detection unit that detects an anomaly in an information transmission function of the interface unit with the user;
a notification processing unit that notifies an external device that the anomaly has occurred in the information transmission function of the interface unit when the anomaly detection unit detects the anomaly; and
a vehicle control ECU that performs automatic stop control for automatically decelerating and stopping the vehicle when an obstacle is detected ahead of the vehicle, wherein:
the external device is operable by the user through the interface unit, and controls a travelling of a vehicle;
the interface unit includes a display and a touch panel superimposed over a display screen of the display;
the anomaly detection unit separately detects both the display anomaly and the touch panel anomaly;
the display anomaly is a state in which a figure to be displayed on the display is not displayed;
the touch panel anomaly is a state in which the touch panel cannot be operated; and
when the automatic stop control is in an on state, the vehicle control ECU turns off the automatic stop control in a case where the display anomaly is detected and/or a case where the touch panel anomaly is detected.
