1. A mechanical and electrochemical testing apparatus, comprising:
a tensile frame having a first grip and a second grip;
an electrochemical cell disposed between the first grip and the second grip, the electrochemical cell having a working electrode port and a counter electrode port;
an electrolyte disposed in the electrochemical cell;
a working electrode coupled to the first grip and the second grip, the working electrode in contact with the electrolyte in the working electrode port;
a counter electrode disposed in the counter electrode port; and
a potentiostat coupled to the working electrode and the counter electrode,
wherein the working electrode port and the counter electrode port are configured to contain liquid electrolyte such that a liquid meniscus may form.
