1. A method for determining a cleaning strategy for cleaning a surface of a motor vehicle,
whereby the surface is selected based on a cleaning mode,
whereby a sensor is operatively connected to the surface,
whereby the sensor exhibits an actual availability, and
whereby the cleaning strategy includes a control quantity setpoint defining a cleaning process for the surface, the method comprising steps of:
selecting the sensor required for the cleaning mode;
checking the actual availability of the sensor at a first time;
determining an expected availability of the sensor at a second time, the second time later than the first time and the expected availability based on a distance covered between the first time and the second time;
determining a threshold of availability for the sensor based at least in part on the expected availability; and
determining, based on the threshold of availability and the actual availability of the sensor, the control quantity setpoint;
cleaning of the surface operatively connected to the sensor, by applying a method for optimizing a resource requirement for the cleaning process of the surface, based on the determined control quantity setpoint.
