1. An electrocardiogram measurement apparatus, comprising:
a thin elongated case having a first and a second wide surfaces;
a first electrode disposed on a first wide surface of the case and configured to receive a first electrocardiogram signal from one hand of a user;
a first amplifier and a first current detector coupled to the first electrode;
a constant voltage source configured to supply a constant voltage;
a second electrode disposed on the first wide surface of the case and coupled to an output of the constant voltage source to transmit the constant voltage to the other hand of the user;
a third electrode disposed on the second wide surface of the case and configured to receive a second electrocardiogram signal from a left leg of the user;
a second amplifier and a second current detector coupled to the third electrode;
an AD converter having two inputs coupled to the outputs of the two amplifiers and configured to convert two output signals of the two amplifiers into two digital lead signals;
a microcontroller configured to receive the two digital lead signals from the AD converter; and
a transceiver configured to transmit the two digital lead signals to a smartphone,
wherein:
at least one of the two amplifiers is a single-ended input amplifier;
the microcontroller, upon receiving an output of the first current detector, enters an active mode from a sleeping mode;
the microcontroller, after entering the active mode, starts a Bluetooth Low Energy communication between the electrocardiogram measurement apparatus and the smartphone using the transceiver;
depending on the two outputs of the two current detectors, the smartphone displays only Lead-I or six-lead electrocardiograms on the smartphone display;
when only both hands of the user contact the first and second electrodes,
only the first current detector detects one current and generates an output, and
then, the smartphone displays only Lead-I on the smartphone display; and
when both hands and the left leg of the user contact the three electrodes,
both the first and the second current detectors detect each current and generate each output, and
then, the smartphone displays the six-lead electrocardiograms on the smartphone display.
