1. A display device comprising:
a plurality of sub-pixels;
a light shield; and
a plurality of driving circuits, wherein
respective ones of the driving circuits include a drive transistor configured to provide a driving current to a corresponding one of the sub-pixels,
the sub-pixels include a first sub-pixel of a first color, a second sub-pixel of a second color different from the first color, a third sub-pixel of a third color different from the first and the second colors,
the first sub-pixel has a first vertical opening width along a first direction and a first horizontal opening width along a second direction, the first horizontal opening width being unaffected by the light shield;
the third sub-pixel has two third vertical opening widths along the first direction and a third horizontal opening width along the second direction, the third horizontal opening width being unaffected by the light shield;
the second sub-pixel is disposed to be adjacent to the first sub-pixel in the first direction,
the third sub-pixel is disposed to be adjacent to the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel in the second direction,
the light shield is disposed corresponding to the position on which the third sub-pixel is disposed so as to limit a viewing angle of the third sub-pixel in the first direction and so as to not limit the viewing angle in the second direction,
the light shield has a rectangular shape with a major axis that is parallel to the second direction,
the length of the major axis of the light shield is less than the length of the third sub-pixel in the second direction, longer than a length of a minor axis that is parallel to the first direction, and shorter than the third horizontal opening width, the light shield disposed in a center portion of the third sub-pixel near a bottom of the first sub-pixel and near a top of the second sub-pixel,
the two third vertical opening widths of the third sub-pixel are each smaller than the first vertical opening width of the first sub-pixel, due to the placement of the light shield, and
the third horizontal opening width of the third sub-pixel is smaller than the first horizontal opening width of the first sub-pixel.
