1. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
receiving downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), the DCI including a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring field of 1 bit or 2 bits; and
determining whether to skip PDCCH monitoring based on a value of the PDCCH monitoring field,
wherein a ‘0’ value for the 1 bit of the PDCCH monitoring field indicates no skipping in the PDCCH monitoring, and a ‘1’ value for the 1 bit of the PDCCH monitoring field indicates skipping the PDCCH monitoring within a time window, and
wherein a ‘00’ value for the 2 bits indicates no skipping in the PDCCH monitoring, each of a ‘01’ value, a ‘10’ value, and a ‘11’ value indicates skipping the PDCCH monitoring for different lengths of time windows.
