1. A method comprising:
receiving, from a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor, data signals from a plurality of pixels of an array of pixels, wherein the array of pixels are incorporated within the ToF sensor, wherein the data signals from the plurality of pixels represent an image captured by the ToF sensor;
generating, using a calculating module of a data filtering device, a plurality of signal-to-noise ratios by determining a respective signal-to-noise ratio for each respective pixel of the plurality of pixels on the basis of the data signals received from the respective pixel, wherein determining the respective signal-to-noise ratio for each respective pixel comprises determining the respective signal-to-noise ratio for each respective pixel based on an amplitude of the data signals received from the respective pixel, an ambient value, and a predetermined standard deviation; and
filtering, using an adaptive filter of the data filtering device, the data signals received from each pixel of the plurality of pixels to generate filtered data signals, wherein the adaptive filter is configured on the basis of the plurality of the signal-to-noise ratios, wherein the filtered data signals represent the image with reduced noise.
