1. A method implemented on an electronic computing device for enhancing trip planning technology for autonomous vehicles, the method comprising:
receiving personal calendar information indicating an availability of a user during a specified time period for engaging in a physical activity segment and an autonomous vehicle segment of a trip;
receiving a destination for the trip;
receiving an arrival time for when the trip needs to be completed;
displaying a plurality of trip planning preference options;
receiving a selection by the user of one or more trip planning preference options from the plurality of trip planning preference options in relation to at least one of the physical activity segment or the autonomous vehicle segment of the trip;
calculating a first estimated time of completion for the physical activity segment of the trip;
calculating a second estimated time of completion for the autonomous vehicle segment of the trip;
using the first estimated time of completion for the physical activity segment of the trip and the second estimated time of completion for the autonomous vehicle segment of the trip to calculate a starting time for the trip to permit the user to complete the trip by the arrival time;
determining, based on the personal calendar information of the user, whether the user is available to start the trip at the starting time, wherein the personal calendar information indicates the availability of the user during the specified time period for engaging in the physical activity segment and the autonomous vehicle segment of the trip;
whereupon determining that the user is available to start the trip at the starting time, displaying a route for the trip on a user interface that includes the physical activity segment and the autonomous vehicle segment of the trip, and displaying on the user interface whether at least one of the physical activity segment or the autonomous vehicle segment meets the one or more trip planning preference options; and
displaying an online survey on the user interface and assigning rewards points pursuant to completion of the online survey.
