1. A magnetic base for an electric power tool, the magnetic base comprising:
a base body that has a contact surface for contacting a workpiece to be machined; and
at least one first permanent magnet and at least one second permanent magnet arranged in the base body, the at least one first permanent magnet and the at least one second permanent magnet having magnetic forces that interact to form a resulting holding force,
wherein the at least one first permanent magnet and the at least one second permanent magnet are supported in the base body, the at least one first permanent magnet and the at least one second permanent magnet each being rotatable around a respective rotation axis between a first position, in which the resulting holding force of the magnetic base is maximized, and a second position, in which the resulting holding force of the magnetic base is minimized, and
wherein, in the second position, the poles of adjacent permanent magnets, that face the contact surface, have different polarities from one another.
