1. A multi-modality imaging system, comprising a positron emission tomography (PET) device and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device, wherein:
the PET device and the MRI device are capable of sequential or simultaneous operation,
the MRI device includes a radio frequency (RF) transmitter and an RF receiver, both of the RF transmitter and the RF receiver including multi-channel coils,
the PET device is insertable into the MRI device, the PET device having a plurality of detection blocks surrounding a sample area for accommodating a target body, and the RF transmitter and the RF receiver being located within the sample area and being closer to the target body than the plurality of detection blocks,
the PET device is connected to a PET control panel, the MRI device is connected to an MR control panel
the PET control panel is connected to a signal interface of the MR control panel and configured to transfer PET detection signals to the MR control panel, and
the MR control panel is configured to transfer the PET detection signals and MR detection signals to one or more processing units to perform further image reconstruction.
