1. A medical image display apparatus for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner or an X-ray CT imaging scanner comprising:
processing circuitry and a memory,
wherein the processing circuitry is configured to:
obtain, from the MRI or X-Ray CT imaging scanner, volume image data of a region-of-interest (ROI) of a first object within an apparatus coordinate system of the imaging scanner
designate or retrieve at least one first characteristic point in a model image or obtained volume image data;
designate a desired section to be observed in the model image or the obtained volume image data;
calculate correlation parameters defining a positional relation determined by numerical values of segments and angles between the at least one first characteristic point in the model image or the obtained volume image data and the desired section to be observed;
store the calculated correlation parameters and thickness of an observation sectional image corresponding to the designated desired section in the memory;
acquire new volume image data obtained using a medical imaging device;
extract at least one second characteristic point in the acquired new volume image data corresponding to the at least one first characteristic point;
generate the observation sectional image, from the acquired new volume image data using (a) the extracted at least one second characteristic point, (b) the calculated correlation parameters, and (c) the thickness of the observation sectional image stored in the memory; and
display the generated observation sectional image on a display device of the medical image display apparatus.
