1. A method of generating a correction plan for correcting a bone having a first fragment and a second fragment, the method comprising:
inputting into a computer system first and second post-operative x-ray images of the bone, the bone in the first and second post-operative x-ray images having a first fixation ring attached to the first fragment and a second fixation ring attached to the second fragment;
displaying the first and second post-operative x-ray images on a display device simultaneously, the first and second post-operative x-ray images having been taken in different planes;
displaying a first axis line on the first fragment in the first and second post-operative x-ray images on the display device;
displaying a second axis line on the second fragment in the first and second post-operative x-ray images on the display device;
displaying a model first fixation ring overlying the first fragment in the first and second post-operative x-ray images on the display device;
changing a position of the model first fixation ring with respect to the first fragment in the first and second post-operative x-ray images by angulating, translating, or rotating the model first fixation ring until the model first fixation ring matches a position of the first fixation ring shown in both the first and second post-operative x-ray images;
inputting to the computer system a value of each of a plurality of struts that couple the first fixation ring to the second fixation ring; and
generating the correction plan based at least on a position of the first axis line, a position of the second axis line, the changed position of the model first fixation ring, and the value of each of the plurality of struts.
