1. An integrated circuit comprising:
circuitry, which, in operation, controls:
configuring a plurality of subframe sequences each including a plurality of device-to-device (D2D) subframes for D2D communication, wherein lengths of the subframe sequences are determined depending on an applicable operational scenario; and
determining a first set of transmission subframe(s) in one of the subframe sequences in a time domain according to a resource pattern selected from a plurality of resource patterns, wherein the resource patterns are respectively repeated in the subframe sequences; and
transmission circuitry, which, in operation, controls transmission of a first signal in the first set of transmission subframe(s).
