1. A system comprising:
a physical server comprising a microprocessor, a logical network adapter, and a memory for storing executable instructions for execution by the microprocessor; wherein
the executable instructions when executed by the microprocessor cause the physical server to execute a process comprising the steps of:
receiving from a client device via a first remote desktop protocol (RDP) channel an encapsulated network packet;
replacing a media access control (MAC) address in the network packet with a MAC address of the logical network adapter; and
placing the network packet into a network driver of the logical network adapter; and
the network driver is configured to transfer the network packet to an operating system of the physical server such that a server-side application in execution upon the physical server can gain access to the network packet.
