1. A tow coating reactor system comprising:
a reactor for receiving fiber tow; and
a wedge situated adjacent the reactor and configured to receive the tow at a tip end, such that as the tow moves across the wedge, the wedge spreads the tow into a plurality of sub-tows, wherein the wedge includes a plurality of longitudinal grooves, each of the plurality of longitudinal grooves configured to receive one of the plurality of sub-tows, and the wedge includes a plurality of fins within each of the plurality of longitudinal grooves.
