1. A method for transmitting data for an established radio link between a user equipment (UE) and a network node, the method comprising:
receiving, by a radio link control (RLC) layer, a plurality of protocol data unit (PDU) packets from a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer;
pre-processing, by the RLC layer, an RLC sub header of an RLC header of each of the plurality of PDU packets based on a service data unit (SDU) length, which is received from the PDCP layer, for each of the plurality of the PDU packets;
concatenating, by the RLC layer, at least one complete PDCP PDU packet from the plurality of the PDU packets into an RLC PDU along with RLC sub header length information based on available medium access control (MAC) grants;
segmenting, by the RLC layer, the plurality of PDU packets into a new PDCP PDU packet which is truncated due to less available MAC grants;
preparing an RLC PDU along with the RLC header comprising the concatenated at least one complete PDCP PDU packet and at a most one new PDCP PDU packet getting segmented based on the available MAC grants; and
transmitting, by the RLC layer to a lower MAC layer, the RLC PDU.
