1. A camera-equipped mobile terminal capable of having installed therein an application for performing a process for extracting additional information from a printed image in which the additional information is embedded, the camera-equipped mobile terminal comprising:
a light source for changing whether or not to illuminate the printed image according to a user instruction or according to whether or not the camera is active; and
a controller configured to perform the process for extracting the embedded additional information from the printed image by the application,
wherein the embedded additional information is multiplex embedded by modulating at least one color component of image data representing a first image in a predetermined area of the printed image,
wherein the application includes an auto white balance adjustment function for automatically adjusting a white balance of an image captured by the camera, and
wherein, in a case where the controller performs the process for extracting the embedded additional information and the camera is active, the controller performs the process for extracting the embedded additional information from the first image illuminated by the light source without applying the auto white balance adjustment function.
