1. An optimization engine comprising:
a memory; and
a processor coupled to the memory, the processor configured to:
receive a communication from one platform of a plurality of content platforms; each of the content platforms for generating diversion content including an active pixel embedded in the diversion content so that a selection of the diversion content at a client device accessing the one platform causes the communication; the active pixel including a link with a campaign identifier and a consumer identifier;
determine a frequency of access of the diversion content based on at least one of the campaign identifier and the consumer identifier in the received communication caused by the selection; and,
change at least one of the diversion content and a target demographic at which the diversion content is directed when the frequency of access falls below a threshold level.
