1. A broadcast receiving apparatus comprising:
a tuner/demodulator configured to receive a plurality of different transmission waves respectively transmitted in a plurality of different polarization directions in an air, and generate a stream by executing a demodulating process using a pair of transmission waves among the plurality of different transmission waves;
a remote control receiver configured to receive a signal from a remote controller; and
a controller,
wherein the controller is configured to identify the pair of transmission waves used for the demodulating process in accordance with first identification information contained in each of the transmission waves received by the tuner/demodulator, and
wherein the controller is configured to identify a first transmission wave of the pair of transmission waves used for the demodulating process and a second transmission wave of the pair of transmission waves used for the demodulating process, in accordance with second identification information contained in each of the transmission waves received by the tuner/demodulator, the first transmission wave being transmitted in a main polarization direction, the second transmission wave being transmitted in a sub polarization direction.
