1. An interconnect transceiver for transmitting and receiving optical signals, comprising:
a modulator configured to provide a modulated optical signal;
a photodetector operatively coupled to an output of the modulator, the photodetector configured to generate an electrical signal indicative of the modulated optical signal;
a transceiver engine configured to operate the modulator in generation of the modulated optical signal and further configured to process optical signals received by the interconnect transceiver following conversion to corresponding electrical signals;
the transceiver engine further configured to operate, in a first mode, to receive and process the electrical signal indicative of the modulated optical signal, and to provide parameters indicative of the modulated optical signal,
a controller configured to controllably adjust one or more operating conditions of the modulator based on the parameters indicative of the modulated optical signal.
