1. A system, comprising:
a gearbox comprising a gearbox sump;
an electric motor fluidically coupled to the gearbox;
a rotor shaft extending axially outward from the electric motor and into the gearbox sump;
an inner shaft coaxial with the rotor shaft, wherein the inner shaft axially extends through the rotor shaft and into the gearbox sump;
a shaft sump positioned with a gearbox housing and directly surrounding the inner shaft; and
an external screw thread that extends along a portion of the inner shaft extending within the rotor shaft;
wherein the inner shaft extends through the shaft sump and is directly rotationally coupled to and arranged coaxial with a differential;
wherein the external screw thread is arranged on a section of the inner shaft that is submerged in the shaft sump;
wherein the shaft sump receives coolant that is splashed via one or more gears in the gearbox; and
wherein rotation of the inner shaft induced by the differential generates coolant flow from the shaft sump into the electric motor.
