1. A remote control for controlling a medical apparatus having a plurality of driven movable components, the remote control comprising:
a sensor configured to detect a position and a motion of the remote control, and
a plurality of release switches, each release switch corresponding to a specific driven movable component,
wherein the remote control emits a control signal controlling a motion of a specific driven movable component according to an amount of a motion of the remote control detected by the sensor when a control of the motion of the specific driven movable component is released by actuating the specific release switch corresponding to the specific driven movable component is released, the specific release switch operational to release only the specific driven movable component to thereby prevent the motion of the remote control detected by the sensor from being inadvertently interpreted as corresponding to a driven movable component other than the specific driven movable component corresponding to the specific release switch, wherein a speed of the specific driven movable component is proportional to the amount of the motion of the remote control with respect to a position of the remote control when the specific release switch corresponding to the specific driven movable component is released, wherein the speed of the specific driven movable component is operable to be reduced by reducing the amount of the motion of the remote control and increased by increasing the amount of motion of the remote control.
