1. A method for enhancing backup and recovery of a virtual machine (VM), comprising:
monitoring an application on the VM;
making a first determination, based on the monitoring, that a VM event has occurred;
obtaining, in response to the first determination, VM metadata associated with the application;
storing the VM metadata in a backup-ready metadata database;
providing, in response to receiving a request to initiate a backup operation, the backup-ready metadata database and a backup image of the VM to a backup storage;
logically splitting, using the backup-ready metadata database, the backup image into a plurality of logical portions;
making a second determination that a first one of the plurality of logical portions does not comprise an anomaly;
sending, in response to the second determination, the first one of the plurality of logical portions to a vault storage;
making a third determination that a second one of the plurality of logical portions does comprise an anomaly; and
generating and sending an error message to a user in response to the third determination.
