1. An eyewear device comprising:
a frame;
a strain gauge sensor coupled to the frame and configured to generate a sensor signal;
a memory comprising a data table of different signature events correlated to strain gauge sensor signal data; and
a processor configured to receive the sensor signal and to identify a plurality of the signature events in the data table based on the sensor signal, wherein the processor is configured to take measurements of the sensor signal at different sampling rates, including at a first sampling rate during a first signature event that is lower than a sampling rate during a second signature event to reduce processor power consumption during the first signature event.
