1. A recirculating fluid treatment system comprising:
a fluid container configured to enclose a treatment agent, the fluid container including at least one port and a seal arranged in the port to retain the treatment agent in the fluid container;
a connector configured to mate with the port and seal to fluidly connect with the treatment agent within the fluid container;
a metering mechanism in fluid communication with the connector and configured to output a desired dose of the treatment agent;
a motor controller configured to energize a motor mechanically coupled to the metering mechanism; and
a hose including a fluid outlet, the hose in fluid communication with an outlet of the metering mechanism, the hose configured for insertion directly into the recirculating fluid treatment system for treatment of recirculating fluid, wherein the motor controller causes the metering mechanism to pump the desired dose of the treatment agent at a predetermined frequency through the hose to directly dose the recirculating fluid independent of a pump employed to circulate the recirculating fluid.
