1. A system, comprising:
a sensing circuit configured to detect CA signals for a series of beats;
one or more processors; and
a memory coupled to the one or more processors, wherein the memory stores program instructions, wherein the program instructions are executable by the one or more processors to:
obtain, with a premature ventricular contraction (PVC) identification system via the sensing circuit, candidate cardiac activity (CA) signals for the series of beats;
identify, with the PVC identification system, whether a characteristic of interest (COI) from a first segment of the candidate CA signals exceeds a COI limit;
analyze, with the PVC identification system, morphology of the candidate CA signals for the series of beats responsive to the first segment of the candidate CA signals exceeding the COI limit; and
based on the analyze operation, identify, with the PVC identification system, a PVC within the series of beats;
discard the candidate CA signals if the PVC is identified within the candidate CA signals based on the analyze operation;
add the candidate CA signals to the series of beats and discarding another beat of the series of beats if a PVC is not identified within the candidate CA signals based on the analyze operation; and
repeat the obtain, identify, analyze, operations to identify an additional PVC in the series of beats.
