1. A rechargeable lithium battery, comprising:
an electrolyte;
a negative electrode comprising a negative active material layer on a negative current collector and the negative active material layer comprising a carbon-based negative active material, the negative electrode having a Degree of Divergence (DD) value of about 19 to about 41, the DD value defined by the following equation:
DD=(Ia/Itotal)*100
where Ia is a sum of peak intensities at 2θ=42.4±0.2°, 43.4±0.2°, 44.6±0.2°, and 77.5±0.2° measured by XRD using a CuKα ray and Itotal is a sum of peak intensities at 2θ=26.5±0.2°, 42.4±0.2°, 43.4±0.2°, 44.6±0.2°, 54.7±0.2°, and 77.5±0.2° measured by XRD using a CuKα ray; and
a positive electrode including a positive active material layer on a positive current collector and including a positive active material and a porous structured additive, wherein a content of the porous structured additive is 0.01 wt % to less than 0.5 wt % based on 100 wt % of the positive active material layer.
