1. A mitral valve replacement system configured to expand within a heart for implantation at a mitral valve site having a mitral valve annulus and native leaflets, comprising:
an expandable frame structure comprising,
an outer wire frame and an inner wire frame positioned radially inward from the outer wire frame, wherein the inner wire frame is connected to the outer wire frame adjacent an outlet end of the inner wire frame and the inner wire frame is otherwise disconnected from the outer wire frame, wherein the inner wire frame defines a cylindrical orifice for blood flow through the inner wire frame from an inlet end of the inner wire frame to the outlet end of the inner wire frame, and wherein the outer wire frame is configured to seal against the mitral valve annulus; and
a set of leaflets coupled to the inner wire frame and configured to occlude the cylindrical orifice during systole and to open to allow flow through the cylindrical orifice during diastole from the inlet end of the inner wire frame to the outlet end of the inner wire frame,
wherein the expandable frame structure includes an outwardly flared annular lip proximate the inlet end of the inner wire frame, and
wherein the outer wire frame of the expandable frame structure comprises an outwardly bowed annular region below a sealing region for providing a sealing interface at the mitral valve annulus.
