1. An image capture device for switching mode of operation, the image capture device comprising:
an image sensor for capturing video content;
physical storage media for storing the video content; and
one or more physical processors configured by machine-readable instructions to:
operate the image capture device in a video capture mode to capture a high fidelity video;
generate a low fidelity video from the high fidelity video, the low fidelity video having lower resolution than the high fidelity video;
switch the operation of the image capture device from operating in the video capture mode to operating in a streaming mode to transmit the high fidelity video and the low fidelity video to a computing device, the operation of the image capture device in the streaming mode including deactivation of one or more functions of the image capture device to limit power consumption by the image capture device;
transmit the low fidelity video to the computing device, wherein the computing device presents a video preview using the low fidelity video received from the image capture device, further wherein the computing device uses a buffer for the low fidelity video received from the image capture device to present the video preview without permanently storing the low fidelity video in memory of the computing device, the presentation of the video preview enabling a user of the computing device to select one or more parts of the low fidelity video for a video edit;
receive the user selection of the one or more parts of the low fidelity video from the computing device; and
transmit one or more parts of the high fidelity video corresponding to the one or more parts of the low fidelity video selected by the user to the computing device, wherein the computing device generates the video edit using the one or more parts of the high fidelity video received from the image capture device.
