1. A method comprising:
triggering, by a wireless device, a beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure;
assessing, based on a threshold, a radio link quality of each of a plurality of reference signals (RSs) to detect a candidate beam for the BFR procedure;
transmitting, to a base station, a message comprising an indication indicating that the candidate beam is not available, during a time that a beam failure recovery timer is running, wherein the indication is based on each of the plurality of RSs having a respective radio link quality assessed to be below the threshold; and
completing the BFR procedure after the transmitting the indication.
