1. A method for operating a radio system, the method comprising:
transmitting, by a plurality of radios, a preamble, wherein the preamble is transmitted simultaneously by the plurality of radios;
generating an output signal by at least a subset of the plurality of radios, wherein a respective frequency channel of a given output signal for one radio is different from a respective frequency of a given output signal for each other radio;
combining respective output signals from the plurality of radios to form a transmission signal; and
transmitting the transmission signal from a single antenna.
