1. A method of operating a distributed information network, the method comprising:
providing a power generator comprising
a system comprising fuel capable of forming a plasma and generating electrical power from the plasma,
a controller that interacts with sensors in the system to measure data for system performance, input parameters, and output parameters of said system, and
a data transmission module;
connecting the power generator to a power transmission grid;
delivering power to the power transmission grid from the power generator;
receiving data from remote devices connected to the power grid using the data transmission module;
routing data traffic between remote devices using the data transmission module.
