1. A computer program product for facilitating processing within a computing environment and replacing manual settings of port speeds, the computer program product comprising:
one or more computer readable storage media and program instructions collectively stored on the one or more computer readable storage media for causing at least one device to perform computer operations comprising:
obtaining, at a device of the at least one device, a command constructed by a bost device of the computing environment, the host device being coupled to the device, the command constructed based on receiving supported port speeds of a network device of a network of the computing environment and deter mining that a selected por edis ported by t port of the network device, the command transmitted to the device and including providing an indication of a-the target port of the network device and the selected port speed for the target port; and
automatically setting, by the device and based on obtaining the command constructed and transmitted to the device, a port speed of the target port to the selected port speed, the automatically setting the port speed replacing the manual setting of the port speed.
