1. A head-mounted display system comprising:
a light source configured to output light with image information;
a waveguide configured to pass light incident from an ambient environment and to in-couple the light from the light source and to output the light to an eye of a wearer of the display system;
a user interface for receiving input from the wearer, wherein the system is configured to: project light from the waveguide to the eye of the wearer to form images in a plurality of locations in the wearer's visual field; and
detect a response regarding the images to determine an ability of the wearer to detect the images at the plurality of locations; and
eye tracking cameras configured to image the eye of the wearer,
wherein the system is configured to image the eye to determine an orientation of the eye in view of the images at the plurality of locations such that system is configured to determine the ability of the wearer to detect the images at the plurality of location based on the response, and wherein the system is further configured to identify visual field deficiencies based on the ability of the wearer to detect the images at the plurality of locations, wherein the system is configured to provide a visual, audio, or tactile notification to the wearer based on detecting a hazard in an unhealthy portion of the wearer's visual field,
wherein the waveguide comprises:
in-coupling optical elements configured to in-couple light from the light source into the waveguide; and
out-coupling optical elements configured to out-couple light towards the eye of the wearer, wherein the light produces images at multiple depth planes.
