1. A system for assisting a crane operator to move a building material object from a beginning location to a destination location, the system comprising:
a database comprising a plurality of records, wherein:
each record of the plurality of records corresponds to a particular building material object, and
each of the plurality of data field stores information associated with at least one of the plurality of building material objects, wherein the information specifies at least one of an identifying indicium and a geometric dimension, and a destination location for each of the plurality of building material objects;
a GPS receiver, communicatively coupled to the database, which generates at least a current location data for each of the plurality of building material objects;
an imaging system, communicatively coupled to the database, which identifies each of the plurality of building material objects within a shakeout field; and
an operator system communicatively coupled to the database, the operator system comprising a display device and being configured to:
provide a visual indicator representing a first building material object of the plurality of building material objects on the display device;
calculate a path between the first building material object's beginning location and its destination location; and
display the path to an operator on the display device.
