1. A device for monitoring a retraction system having at least one spring, wherein the device has:
at least one capacitor which is interconnected with the at least one spring such that the interconnection of the at least one spring and the at least one capacitor forms an oscillating circuit;
a frequency determining component which is configured to determine information about a frequency of the oscillating circuit; and
an evaluation unit which is configured to derive from the information about the frequency of the oscillating circuit information about a length of the at least one spring, wherein the frequency determining component is in the form of a digital frequency determining component or has a digital frequency determining component, and the digital frequency determining component is configured to determine as information about the frequency of the oscillating circuit a number of pulses that occur in the oscillating circuit during a predefined time period.
