1. A method of operating an amusement park ride, the method comprising:
vertically translating a ride vehicle of a plurality of ride vehicles along a vertical column of a plurality of vertical columns, wherein the ride vehicle is coupled to the vertical column via a mount, and the plurality of vertical columns surround a display area, wherein the display area includes a display;
positioning the ride vehicle of the plurality of ride vehicles in a room via an opening in the room such that a passenger in the ride vehicle faces the display;
positioning an additional ride vehicle of the plurality of ride vehicles in the room via an additional opening in the room such that the ride vehicle and the additional ride vehicle face one another through the display area;
causing the display to activate and display images when the ride vehicle of the plurality of ride vehicles is positioned in the room.
