1. A method, comprising:
transmitting, from a first user device connected to a video conference and associated with a conference participant, an indication to a peripheral device to buffer a portion of media content of the video conference;
performing, within the video conference, a transition of the conference participant from the first user device to a second user device connected to the video conference including causing the peripheral device to relay the portion of the media content during the transition;
terminating the connection of the first user device from the video conference before the portion of the media content is relayed to the video conference;
storing, for later transmission to the second user device, real-time data in memory during the transition from the first user device to the second user device while relaying non-real time data to the second user device; and
changing a speed of the relay to the second user device until the media content displayed on the second user device is aligned with the video conference.
