1. A method comprising:
receiving, at a social network, a first content item, wherein the first content item is associated with a user account of the social network;
identifying a plurality of user accounts that follow the user account in the social network;
determining content preferences shared by the plurality of user accounts;
receiving metadata of a second content item;
determining a relationship between the content preferences shared by the plurality of user accounts and the metadata of the second content item;
based at least in part on the determining the relationship between the content preferences shared by the plurality of user accounts and the metadata of the second content item, providing an enhanced content item by combining at least a portion of the second content item and at least a portion of the first content item; and
providing for display the enhanced content item.
